The Music and Videos of ezcape Hax
Add to Favorites
Music and Video podcast for an online musician known as ezcape Hax. ezcape (EZ) Hax is a singer/songwriter based in Chicago, IL. EZ learned to play piano as a child but his musical career really took off many years later when he learned to play guitar in 1994. Evenutally, EZ came to think of his voice as his favorite instrument and the singer/songwriter we now know was born. Today, he describes himself as a singer, who just happens to play guitar. The passion with which he performs belies this humble statement as can often be seen as he simulcasts live video of his performances on his website during his shows. EZ's style is a combination of popular rock, with a little R&B mixed in and he lists Pearl Jam, Bush, STP, Lifehouse, and Damien Rice as being among his influences.

Stack Jones: Biography As a teen, Stack had a musical experience that changed his life. Lynyrd Skynyrd was performing in Tampa, Fla. Stack and buddies headed for the show. Having no tickets or money, they stood at the backstage door and listened to Skynyrd's sound check. Suddenly, the door flew open and there strode the band! The boys stated their plight and Ronnie Van Zant told 'em to stick around till they returned and they'd see to it the boys got to see the show. Skynyrd played Miami the following night and told the boys to meet them at their hotel. Skynyrd allowed them to ride in the band's limo with them into the sold out Miami Baseball Stadium. The crowd rushed the limo and outstretched arms reached in to touch the band. "I never saw so much admiration before, it was overwhelming," "A year later I traveled to Europe at my rich girlfriend's parent's expense. We saw David Bowie, Bauhaus, Killing Joke and on and on. I realized music had an influence on the entire world and on many different levels. I recognized that drama and theatre was an integral part of performance. I vowed to return to school to study music and theatre for as long as I could." Stack studied music at Miami Dade Community College, received a BA (honors) in Film Production at Loyola Marymount, audio/video certification at Soundmaster Recording Studios, studied design and EFX at Moviola Educational Center, and received his Juris Doctorate (JD) at the University of La Verne. Stack recently completed 13 Rowdy Row, which he wrote, produced, performed and engineered himself. He plays every instrument. And his second album is in the can tentatively titled; Mostly Odd Things He Does. "I began the project in law school. But, it was expensive and so was studio equipment. I couldn't afford both, unless I had no bills, which translated into being homeless. So, I placed my possessions in a storage facility in San Diego and lived out of my truck for three years. I was exposed to the elements, both natural and human, which is often very inhuman. I survived many dangerous episodes, including a nighttime car-jacking attempt. On weekends I'd drive to San Diego and sleep on the beach. When the school was closed, I drove to Monterey and walk the beaches for miles. Usually, Pebble Beach. Or I'd sleep in the mountains of Yosemite. That's how I memorized case law and course outlines for law exams. I considered the entire state of California my home. I hoped my sacrifice and commitment would one day be rewarded. That's the line of shit they give you about the U.S. anyway, isn't it?" In law school Stack spent two-years working for the San Bernardino County Public Defenders Office and the Juvenile Division. He won every motion he wrote to the chagrin of the DA's. "I finished law school in January 2007. I never went to the graduation ceremony. I just walked out of my last exam, headed for San Diego, packed up my gear and headed for Overton Beach, Nevada where my sister had a vacation home. The address "was" 13 Rowdy Row, which is how the album got its name. "Before I could complete the project, the National Park Service took my sister's home giving thirty-days to evacuate - no just compensation." Deterred, but not destroyed, Stack packed up his studio and moved to Japan, where he finished the lyrics and final mixes for two new albums. The songs are in the 'new' country genre crossing into adult contemporary, acoustic, alternative and his own unique style of bluegrass. Stack s signed a recording contract with an Indy label; Cherry Street Records in December 2008. Two videos are in the can, with more in the works. Stack's next project is writing a screenplay based on Pramoedya Ananta Toer's, Bumi Manusia Quartet; "This Earth Of Mankind," which was nominated for a Pulitzer Peace Prize. The Bumi Manusia Quartet is banned in Indonesia, where Toer spent more than seventeen-years imprisoned for writing the series of novels.
